I replicated an African woven cloth called Ikakibite,  or Turtle cloth.  I drafted each individual rectangle on raw silk then dyed and painted each black rectangle with natural dyes. The fabric was then made into a style of pant worn by dancers from the Dogon tribe of Mali.

I also made talismans-a necklace,a crossbody charm, and a hairy talisman belt. Straw arm bands were made from a straw Tiki table skirt and dyed with botanical dyes.
